선교지 소식

Dear Friends,

UPDATE: The rainy season is here in Japan and the mosquitos have come out in full force. The weather is hot and humid. Juliet has been part of an English book reading time at Isaiah's yochien. It is truly a wonderful opportunity for relationships to be built and for us to share the gospel here in Japan. Joe is asked nearly every week by one of his language school classmates why he left America to live here in Japan, and that also has opened many doors to have conversations about missionary work and the gospel.

PRAYER/PRAISE:
1. Please pray for our colleagues Michael and Pearl Oh and their 5 children. They recently left to spend the summer in the U.S. Please pray for Michael in particular as he travels to raise financial support for his family as well as for Christ Bible Seminary.

2. Praise God for Isaiah's wonderful teachers at yochien! Japanese teachers work so hard to take care of the students, and even though they don't speak much English and Isaiah doesn't understand much of their Japanese, they have shown so much care for him. Isaiah often prays during our prayer time that his teachers would know Jesus and be able to go to heaven.

3. Please pray for ANF and our 5 intern staff. We are going to add 2 more staff at the end of the summer, and possibly one more. Please pray for wisdom for Joe as he leads and equips the staff for effective gospel ministry here in Japan.

View this informative article about missionary work in Japan, "In Japan, it can take time for a heart to believe." Though not all missionaries in Japan would agree 100% with this article, it is still quite informative:
